Reports indicate that Billie had been performing her show at State Farm Arena, when it became clear that somebody in the front row needed some attention.
Thereafter, Billie decided to pause her concert in order to ensure that the fan could get some treatment. In the video here, we can see that Billie is directing the medical people to the fan who requires an inhaler.
In the process of doing so, she could not help but shade Travis Scott. After all, the rapper was heavily criticised during the recent Astroworld tragedy for failing to recognise that the crowd were in distress, which ultimately led to a reported 10 people dying as well as many others injured.
During the concert, Billie said: “I wait for people to be OK before I keep going.” In the aftermath of Billie’s comments, the crowd responded in kind with a huge cheer.
And it was clearly a lesson to all other artists on what they should be doing, especially in light of the fact that Travis Scott is facing a series of lawsuits from the family members of the deceased.
So as well as it being the right thing, Billie was also protecting her own interests in case the fan had suffered from something serious.
The response on social media was firmly positive towards Billie. The vast majority of fans praised her and demanded that other entertainers take note of how to respond in such situations.
One person wrote: “Billie is so powerful she caused someone to need an inhaler,” while another person stated: “She cares about her fans so much. The sweetest.”
The most important thing was that the fan had managed to get treatment. And in light of everything that has happened for those who suffered in Astroworld, this is exactly the type of response that was needed to show people that it is safe to attend concerts.
