Talk show host Bill Maher has given his take on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s demeanour in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Bill Maher Outlines Volodymyr Zelensky’s Role In Redefining Masculinity-‘He’s Making America Grind Again’
The Ukrainian President has been highly praised over his decision to remain in the country and turn down the opportunity to evacuate. While that has been an extremely difficult decision in and of itself, there is no denying that the President has won over many plaudits. And one of those included none other than Bill himself.
He expanded on how Zelensky was shaping the way that masculinity was being demonstrated to the world. In his comments, Bill said: “The world still needs grown-ass men. Forget making America great again.” But it was not just his courage that was being praised.
Bill went on to address the new-found status the President has had in becoming a heartthrob. Although that is of secondary importance, given that he is navigating the future of his country amongst the war, Bill felt that this was one of the reasons why he has received so much support.
He added: “He’s making America grind again. Guys, you can go on about how masculinity is itself toxic or you can be horny for Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but you can’t do both.” And this was reflected in the social media comments that followed.
A significant proportion of the comments were directed towards the impact that the President was having on women. And this went on to showcase just how out of touch the American leadership had become.
One comment said: “If I’m being honest, Zelenskyy gives me a lady boner,” while another remarked: “I wanna bang Zelenskyy.” In reality, this perception of the president has only been aided by his background. Prior to taking on the leadership of the country, he was an actor and comedian.
Not only that, but he played the character of a Ukrainian President in the hit TV show ‘Servant of the People.’ That is why it is not surprising to see that Zelensky has become somewhat of a celebrity during this period. So there you have it folks.
