‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers love the different layers to the characters we’re getting daily, and there’s more to come.
We’ve been waiting to see how Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) deals with the conflict of interest when things came to light.
He spent his life idolizing his father, and even modeled his career after him. Elon Hawthorne (Malachi Malik) was a paragon of honor and integrity to his son.

But his faith is shaken since being partnered with Marcel Malone (Darryl W. Handy) and Smitty Smith (Mike Manning) sharing his concerns about Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon ).
We were curious if Jacob would side with justice and honor over his family. In answer, he told Smitty he’d follow through even if things involved his father.
Now, Naomi Richardson (Arielle Prepetit) will have the same conflict. As an officer of the court, she has a feeling on what’s to come.
When Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) tell her everything about what happened two years ago, she’s going to face the same dilemma.
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers: An unwanted burden
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers are ready for another deep dive into the complexity of the characters.
It’s been fun seeing ow ‘Beyond the Gates’ has given us so many complex characters and hasn’t shied away from tough stories.
The way they’ve handled the stories have been great and we expect more of that.
Naomi will have a lot to process after learning everything, but she already suspected much of it thanks to Jacob.
She’s going to show some serious growth from when she was ready to boot Jacob for arresting Dani Dupree (Karla Mosely) early on.
She’s in the know and understands why Jacob can’t just not investigate. She’s going to have to pick a side, though she’ll try to remain true to her family.
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers: Choosing family or justice?
Once Naomi knows everything that happened, we expect she’ll totally understand Jacob’s dilemma and she may side with him.
She didn’t want Jacob to dig deeper, but with two murders that could change things.
She’ll feel the pressure to stay quiet on it, but as an officer of the court she has a duty to uphold. This is where things will get interesting.
Assaulting Martin and Vernon was a federal crime, and they could’ve called the state police instead of the local. They didn’t.
Martin committed murder but it was in self defense and in a moment of insanity. He most likely would’ve been acquitted. It would’ve affected his political career, but in a good way more than not.
Instead, Vernon and Anita viewed it through their past experiences and tried to protect him from that.
That makes them and everyone else accessories to covering up a crime. And now there’s another murder.
We think Naomi will understand that Jacob can’t stop investigating, and she’ll give Vernon and Anita a heads up. Now, will that involve her coming clean with Jacob as well, that’s another story.
