When season ten of Below Deck came to an end, Captain Lee Rosbach was in a lot of pain and was struggling to walk. His health was declining quickly and it looked as if he needed to get more help. He was struggling with nerve damage and had lost most of the feeling on the left side of his body.
He felt that he was unable to remain the captain of the yacht. His crew was devastated but were happy to welcome Captain Sandy Yawn. Of course, fans were excited to see more of Captain Sandy and most of the crew warmed up to her rather quickly.
Below Deck: Will Captain Lee Return?
As hard as it was for Captain Lee to leave, fans of the show and his crew knew that he couldn’t make it much longer like this. He did promise that he would return to the charter before it was the end of the season though. Just recently, Captain Lee took the time to open up to his fans about coming back to the yacht.

He said, “I made a promise to the crew before I left that I would be back before they were done before the season was over, and I would walk on board by myself unassisted. I’m happy to say that I was able to fulfill the promise. That was a very proud moment for me. I wanted to be able to finish what I started.”
Captain Lee has been going to many doctors and physical therapists to try and deal with his nerve issues. He had to have back surgeries that “went extremely well” and he is working on getting much better. Captain Lee has never stopped trying to get his body to cooperate. We are so happy that his doctors have been working on helping him out.
When he left the yacht, he told his crew, “I finally gave myself a plane ticket home, but it’s round trip. I’m going to go back to the States, get this straightened out and as soon as I do, I’ll be on the first plane back here and tell whoever’s on board to get the f**l off my boat.” Captain Lee has never been a quitter and it hurt him so much to leave his crew. It helped to motivate him to go back to physical therapy and try to get his body back to where he can work again.
