Actress Kate Beckinsale recently spoke on Howard Stern and her 152 IQ got brought up, as Stern said he wish he had that high of an IQ. Beckinsale responded saying,
“No, you don’t. You really don’t. Every single doctor, every single person I’ve ever come across has said, you’d be so much happier if you were 30% less smart.”
Beckinsale was educated at Oxford University and currently stars on Paramount+’s ‘Guilty Party’.
The average IQ is somewhere between 85-115, making Beckinsale’s 152 in the top 1% of the population, making her incredibly gifted.

Speaking on her career, she believes her high IQ hasn’t been helpful,
“It’s no good to me, though. It’s really not helpful to me in my career. I just think it might have been a handicap actually.”
Beckinsale has some incredible films under her belt, including ‘Pearl Harbor’, ‘Seredipity’ and her iconic role in the ‘Underworld’ franchise. While she’s found a lot of success in her career, she still feels like her IQ has dampened it to some extent.
Currently, she’s on the mend after injuring herself in Las Vegas while filming her new film, ‘Prisoner’s Daughter.’ She revealed that she injured herself while trying to put on leggings in her hotel room. Speaking to James Corden, she recalled the injury,
“Having done eight or nine hundred action movies, I hurt myself putting on a pair of leggings … it felt like a sort of guitar string snapped and everything was horrible.”
We hope she’s doing alright now and look forward to seeing her in her new films.
