Certain McDonald’s franchisees have voiced their criticism of the deal between Cardi B and Offset and the fast food company, expressing worries that it could harm the wholesome reputation of the restaurant.

Last month, the duo openly declared their collaboration with McDonalds and their own specific menu, however this association with the couple, notorious for their coarse language and sexually explicit music, has generated some skepticism.

The couple’s designated eat-out option includes a cheeseburger, and a large Coca-Cola for Cardi, and a quarter pounder with cheese and a large Hi-C Orange Lavabust for the other. To wrap it up, the two of them share a large order of French fries and a hot apple pie.

Fortune has reported that certain franchisees have referred to the McDonald’s Golden Arches Code, which states the following: “Partnerships with celebrities and influencers that have potential risk to damage our brand based on statements they have made or their positions on certain issues aren’t permitted.

“Music partnerships associated with content that includes offensive language in the lyrics.” Allegedly, many franchisees were also upset when the rapper Travis Scott partnered with the fast food chain in 2020 since his lyrics contain profane language.

The Travis Scott Meal cost $6 and consisted of a quarter pounder with cheese, lettuce, and bacon, a side of fries with a BBQ sauce dip, and a Sprite. Dick Adams, a previous McDonald’s restaurant proprietor and advisor to franchisees, confirmed that the Cardi B -Offset promotion was a ‘culture shock’.

In his comments, he said: “Especially if you’re a franchisee and you’re 50 or 60 years old and you don’t have any kids and haven’t been exposed to any types of these lyrics. I have talked to many franchisees who are concerned about it, but it’s good for sales and corporate endorses it. I don’t think there’s a lot of pushback.”
