Ariana Grande has sent her fans into a frenzy with the reported news that she has deactivated her Twitter account.

Ariana Grande Has Reportedly Deactivated Her Twitter Account

The news was a huge shock especially since the singer has over 200 million followers and counting. And with Christmas finally here, fans were excited to see how she was spending the holidays.

It is not clear from Ariana, herself, why she decided to deactivate the account, but the following reasons will give us an insight into why she may have done so.

First of all, Christmas is a time of getting closer to your family. Therefore, it is understandable if Ariana wanted to take some time away from her fans and focus on herself.

After all, it has been a rollercoaster ride of late as shown by her engagement to Dalton Gomez in 2020. It would then make sense to spend this time away from social media.

Secondly, which is a view that has been expressed by a certain subset of fans, Ariana has hardly been getting positive comments on social media.

This is not helping her, since she admitted to suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety due to the fact that she was performing at the stadium where the Manchester Arena bombing had occurred in 2018.

One fan wrote: “Ariana deactivating isn’t surprising.. people including many of her OWN fans have been saying the vilest things against her without consequences, her mental health comes first so i hope she’ll be ok.”

Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind that Ariana has apparently been posting on her Instagram. She had wished her fans: “Merry [Christmas]. Be safe, I love you.”

As such, it is safe to say that she is well and has perhaps taken this decision to move away from Twitter due to the manner that it operates.

It is no surprise that many celebrities have been caught out expressing tweets which they would then later go on to regret. Time will tell whether this is a short term decision.

But for now, it is more important to make sure that people have a wonderful Christmas in light of what has been a very difficult year for everyone.
