British Royal News says that there’s some speculation that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be trying to make Kate Middleton look bad in their new Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan. Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, the docuseries will include commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed according to Netflix. But some people believe that Harry and Meghan might be specifically aiming at Kate Middleton, for one reason or another.
Are Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Trying To Go After Kate Middleton?
Royal correspondent Jack Royston, who often writes for Newsweek, says that it’s more than just a coincidence that the Princess of Wales is prominently featured in both of the Harry and Meghan teaser trailers. He told Good Morning Britain: ‘We’ve had Kate in both the trailers. In the most recent one there’s a strapline underneath which is a headline from a magazine cover.
That particular magazine included an allegation that the Queen was embarrassed of her and photographs of her drunk in public were on the front cover. So if they’re going to go into the early days of Kate and William’s relationship that could be very uncomfortable.”
He added: “In the Oprah interview that was described as a major turning point where everything changed, then in this latest Netflix trailer you have Harry saying, ‘this was the turning point’ – they don’t say what he’s talking about but you kind of already know.”
The six-episode Harry and Meghan series will be released in two halves. Volume one will air on December 8 – exactly three months after the death of Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II – and volume two will air on December 15. The first trailer for the docuseries was released on the second day of the Prince and Princess of Wales’s high-profile trip to the US. It featured never before-seen photographs of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
