Are Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Just Pretending To Be “Busy?”

Royal expert Richard Kay talked on the podcast series Palace Confidential and made a fascinating point. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle constantly make announcements about their new product, podcast, or project, and nothing happens.

Meghan’s Podcast Isn’t Until Next Year

Kay said that Meghan was in such a rush to announce her new deal with Lemonada Media to produce a podcast, but the truth is that her show will not happen until next year. The deal was done in February, but we still haven’t heard any plans for the show except that she’s rerunning her Archetypes podcast.

Before that, her podcast was on Spotify. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a deal with the company until Spotify terminated their contract. Spotify executive Bill Simmons called Harry and Meghan “f***ing grifters.”

The Duchess produced only one series of Archetypes on Spotify before she got the ax. Lemonada pushed Meghan’s podcast back to 2025. The company didn’t want Meghan’s new Netflix cooking show to steal the spotlight on her series.

Lemonada was also said to be concerned with scheduling conflicts between the podcast, her cooking show, and the launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. It was a business decision.

Meghan’s representatives declined to comment on this, but she had a list of very “high-profile” guests she had planned to have on her show.

The Duchess wants to focus on her jam and other American Riviera Orchard products at this point. It’s unclear to Lemonada whether she could put all her energy into both.

Another example of the Sussexes tradition of announcing their projects without backing them up with any action is their partnership with Netflix.

They announce that they have a movie or a show that’s “about to come out,” but after a while, you just hear a pin drop because nothing is happening.

The Sussexes “New Content” Never Comes To Fruition

Take their movie adaption of Carley Fortune’s book, “Meet Me At the Lake.” How long have they been promoting that? Since last summer?

Same with the “exciting new content” the Duke and Duchess have produced. Meghan boasted about their “upcoming projects” when she strolled the red carpet at Variety’s Power of Women event in November 2023.

“I’m really proud of what we’re creating,”

She beamed.

“My husband is loving it too.”

She droned on and on. She talked about developing content that

“makes people feel good.”

She said she was

“just really proud of what we’re creating.”

It’s Meghan’s style to do things for publicity, and one has to wonder if that’s her main motive for everything.

Royal expert Richard Eden said,

“It’s a very strange way of operating. It’s very strange to announce deals and then have nothing. Announcing a deal like this and then not have any content, any podcasts for a year.”

Putting the cart before the horse is a very Meghan Markle thing to do. She makes announcements about her upcoming projects but then doesn’t, can’t, or won’t deliver.

The couple, he said,

“always appear to be in a hurry to make announcements and look busy.”

It’s quite embarrassing.

Harry and Meghan can’t seem to have anything to show for their “efforts,” or it’s so late that no one cares anymore. Who cares to begin with?
