Well, it’s been a theme on the show lately and ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers are afraid to say it looks like lazy writing is back and they’re changing characters to fit their storylines.
One thing that’s always been hard for soap writers is keeping the show’s history and continuity straight after decades of being on the air. It can be tricky and emphasizes the need for a show bible that’s regularly updated so new writers know their character’s history.
But more than that, there’s also been the trend to appear as flashy and dramatic as possible to bring in their views, and the latter has been the show’s habit as of late.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: For the greater good
The latest victim of lazy writing looks to be Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) as she’s going to risk her lifelong friendship with Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
The big rub here is that Olivia and Lois are best friends, and Lois is outright refusing to listen to Olivia and trust her, and all to keep Sonny from being hurt and lied to.
It just doesn’t make any sense. We get that Lois isn’t being given all of the information by Olivia, but after all of these years she can’t just trust her?
Olivia’s told her so many times to let it go and everyone’s happy and her spilling the beans would only hurt everyone.
But Lois is undaunted and intends to tell Sonny everything, and that’s going to lead to a whole new set of problems.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Huge Fallout Coming
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers suspect the only way this will work out is if Olivia and Ned Quatermaine (Wally Kurth) get back in time to stop Lois from blabbing.
We think this is what’ll happen and it’ll be a lazy way to save their friendship after lazy writing almost tanked it.
In the end, it feels like this will be a red herring to allow Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to tell Sonny the truth.
As for the possible fall out between the two friends, it could still happen and probably should after Lois tried to betray Olivia, but we doubt it’ll happen.
Like most things, it’ll be glossed over instead of exploring the dark storylines and angles it could lead to and allow us to explore them as viewers.
Of course, we could be wrong and Olivia won’t make it in time and Sonny will know everything before Nina tells him to make that scene more charged initially.
