New Charges Possible For Alec Baldwin Regarding ‘Rust’ Set Shooting

In the criminal case involving “Rust,” Alec Baldwin may not be out of the woods just yet. Prosecutors may decide to refile charges in light of new information regarding documents pertaining to the film’s preproduction preparation.

Following a request by New Mexico prosecutors to produce any papers related to any contracts between Baldwin and the film’s production firms, a court recently rendered a significant decision.

The production’s handling of firearms training, safety on the set, and if any costs were trimmed might all be revealed by looking through those documents. After giving his opinion, Hizzoner concluded that the D.A.’s office should get the records.

New Charges Possible For Alec Baldwin Regarding ‘Rust’ Set Shooting

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer for the film and current inmate facing an involuntary manslaughter charge, has been claiming the production companies have essentially put her in a bind and stopped her from carrying out her duties effectively.

She has stated that she was refused more training with a pistol, with the filmmakers blaming her for having a limited budget.

Baldwin may be in for more difficulties depending on what is discovered in the turned-over documents. Recall that in April, the accusation of involuntary manslaughter was dismissed against him.

There’s a chance he might face charges now. During a rehearsal, Halyna Hutchins was shot and murdered by Baldwin’s gun, which went off and hit her. Baldwin claims he didn’t pull the trigger.
