Last year, Braunwyn Windham-Burke reached her limit when her husband, Sean Burke, reportedly drained the money from their shared bank accounts, causing their separation.

Braunwyn, who publicly announced her sexuality as a lesbian in December of 2020, has recently initiated divorce proceedings from her husband Sean in October of 2022, following a prolonged period of separation.
The pair have seven children together. Braunwyn and Sean have expressed their desire to finalize their divorce soon, but it is dependent on resolving issues related to child custody and financial support.
With that being said, this is what Braunwyn had to say: “It’s the reason I did file for divorce. When you’re still legally married, there’s not a lot to protect you.
“So Sean had emptied out our joint bank accounts unbeknownst to me. Literally, one day I woke up and I had no access to any of my cards or any money. And that was why I filed for divorce.”
Sean responded by saying that the money that was transferred was utilized for paying the expenses of the family.
According to a court filing in December 2022, Braunwyn stated that it has been challenging to take care of her seven children while striving to achieve financial independence.
She also mentioned in the same filing that her partner, Sean, had ceased providing financial assistance to their family.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “As of right now, if he doesn’t send me money — because legally he’s not required to — then I can’t buy food or groceries and my parents have been supporting me.
“He sends very little. I have five kids still at home that I’m taking care of and he doesn’t send enough to cover groceries.”
Despite this being the case, the social media response was far from sympathetic towards Braunwyn.
This was on the grounds that she had ultimately destroyed the relationship with her coming out story, and therefore, some felt that Sean had no reason to be tied to her in any way which included financially.
One person wrote: “This woman just won’t go away, well after her 15 minutes are up. After watching her on tv, I can only figure her soon-to-be ex husband is a saint for tolerating her.”
