Counting On’s Josh Duggar Scrambles For Possible Sentence Reduction!

Back in November of 2021, Josh Duggar was convicted of two counts of child porn, however bow he is scrambling to get rid of one of the charges relating to the case because it looks like in the pre-sentencing investigation things are not looking so bright for him and that he may just get the maximum involved for each sentence, consecutively, which means he could be spending the next 40 years of his life behind bars behind bars, no ifs ands or buts.

This is the reason he nd his lawyers are trying to work out a deal with the judge pre-sentencing but that looks dicey at best.

Josh Duggar scrambles for possible sentence reduction

The language in the document seems to all hinge on the definition of the word “know”, they are trying to say that while Josh may have had the files on his computer that he didn’t know what the contents were and that the first 29 seconds of the videos did not contain any explicit content.

However, Josh Dughar himself kind of shot his defense in the foot on this one because he literally asked officers who searched his place in the beginning were they there about child pornography.

Indeed it sounds like Josh Duggar had some idea about why he was being investigated and thought that it might involve some kind of child pornography, that’s not the first thing your average person would think of when their place of business was being searched but then again Josh Duggar is not just your average person.

Duggars’ lawyers are also trying to say that Caleb Williams, Josh Duggar’s friend who also worked at the car lot intentionally misled law enforcement and had more passwords than what he provided when that was not what it said in Williams’ email at all.

Rather, the email stated that Williams did not intentionally mean to mislead law enforcement and that he had forgotten some passwords, two entirely different narratives. They are trying to say that charging Josh for the second count of child pornography would fall under double jeopardy and no man can be convicted for the same crime twice, but they are indeed two separate charges. It looks like Duggars’ lawyers have their work cut out for them. Stay tuned!!!
