‘The Bachelor’ has not had a good run of leads lately and if the rumors are true about who will helm the 26th season, fans are not holding onto hope that the trend will change anytime soon.
Pilot Peter Weber had a disastrous season 24. The Bachelor producers then went outside the norm and selected a Bachelor who hadn’t come from a Bachelorette season (but stayed somewhat in the Bachelor family), selecting Tyler Cameron’s best friend, Matt James – who was to be a contestant on Clare Crawley’s Bachelorette season. James’ season 25 did not go well- especially for former host, Chris Harrison.
‘The Bachelor’: New Lead Leaked…and Fans Are Not Impressed.
Now the story goes that we are getting a Katie Thurston castoff- but it’s not who the fans were hoping for.

Greg Grippo, who went out with a bang and not a whimper, returning to face Katie in a Battle Royale on the After the Final Rose is reportedly in final negotiations to be Bachelor 26.0. The prestigious acting school graduate (hey, we’re insinuating nothing…ish) has not yet been announced by Bachelor producers so we can’t say for certain this will be our next leading man…but Reality Steve has rarely been wrong before.

But we doubt they saw this reaction coming.
Reality Steve figured the backlash would be intense, but also believes this is exactly why they selected such a polarizing lead. “[Greg] will have people talking, which is what they want.”

With fans having even more terrible selections they are sending producers just incase this one doesn’t pan out.
So, we guess this puts an end to the rumor that Grocery Store Joe is getting The Bachelor edit on BIP.
It does seem very quick to name a new lead, considering we still have Michelle Young’s Bachelorette season to come (with a slew of men just waiting to be discarded) …so it may be a little wait to see if Reality Steve has, once again, gotten it right…and the Bachelor producers gotten it so wrong!
