It could have been a night in which political royalty got to dance the night away with British royalty, but that didn’t happen. In fact, there’s a report that suggests Meghan Markle might be feeling pretty pissed that she missed the event of the year: former President Barack Obama’s 60th birthday. According to British Royal Family expert and author Angelina Levin, Meghan Markle “desperately wanted” to attend Obama’s birthday at his private estate at Martha’s Vineyard last weekend, but it didn’t happen.

“I am told that despite claiming she was unable to attend, Meghan desperately wanted to be the special guest at the Obamas’ amazing party,” Levin explained, adding that while the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Obamas to limit guests to a 475-person headcount, “Harry and Meghan were never even on the original list.”
According to the New York Daily News, the Obamas scaled back their party because of Covid-19 concerns, but that didn’t stop some of their closest friends from coming.
The guest list included A-listers such as George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Stephen Spielberg and Bruce Springsteen along with Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay. Notably absent were royal Californians, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
And while it’s been noted that the Delta variant, responsible for a massive spike in cases nationwide, prompted the Obamas to scale back their initial 475-person guest list, you’d think at least one of the Sussexes would have showed up for the party, but they didn’t.
