She’s seen it, she’s lived it, and she certainly doesn’t need to revisit it. Jessica Simpson says that she hasn’t watched the much-talked about Britney Spears documentary on Hulu just because it would be too emotional for her.
As many fans remember, even though Jessica perhaps didn’t have the same kind of star power that Britney did during her prime, the two women did climb the charts around the same time during the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. Here’s what she has to say.
Jessica Simpson Says Watching the Britney Spears Documentary Would Be Too Emotional For Her
Jessica says that she hasn’t watched the documentary, Framing Britney Spears and for a good reason, too. The doc highlights Britney’s ongoing conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears.
Referring to the growing #FreeBritney movement, Howard says that he supports the fans who believe that Jamie Spears might be suppressing his own daughter.
Speaking to Tamron Hall on her talk show, Jessica said, “”If I were to watch it, like, reliving that for me it’s like one of those like triggers, you know, it definitely gives me anxiety and I, I lived it.”
Jessica also said that she personally knew Britney and what she went through at that time.
“I know Britney and I know what she went through and it’s so, it’s so hard, because it’s so many people’s opinions on you just trying to live your life as a normal human being, because inside we’re really just, you know, we are normal, you know?” Jessica says.
The mother-of-three also says that she understands why some stars like Britney Spears eventually put up their guard, especially when they’ve been in the public eye for so many years.
“We might have a big platform but, you can only take stuff for so long, you can only, you know, allow people in and attacking you until you have to really, you know, put your guard up.”
