‘Teen Mom’ spoilers have found that MTV’s Teen Mom OG season 9 will be premiering on January 26. A brand new trailer dropped today and it’s full of Girl Power.
“From changing relationships to big moves, the women are showcasing what it’s been like to be a mom in this current ‘new normal,” read the press release that came along with the new season announcement.
It all sounds pretty much par for the course when it comes to the Teen Mom franchise and yet the drama in these young ladies lives still seems to have audiences coming back for more.
‘Teen Mom’ Spoilers: The OGs are back for season 9, premiering next week.
Season 9 will follow OGs Catelynn Lowell Baltierra, Maci Bookout McKinney and Amber Portwood who’s teen pregnancies were all chronicled 2009’s first season of MTV’s 16 and Pregnant. The three OGs are once again joined by McKenzie Douthit McKee who’s starred in the fourth season of 16 and Pregnant along with Cheyanne Floyd who came from a different MTV reality series; The Challenge. It was an odd addition, but here we are.
So, what’s in store for the moms and their now pre-teen (woah, when did that happen) kids this season?
Maci will be dealing with son, 12-year-old Bentley’s relationship with his father, Ryan Edwards. Along with the trailer, a short ‘first look’ clip was released showing Ryan–now married with two toddlers–though apparently now sober, still complaining about Maci. Hopefully as Ryan and Bentley’s relationship strengthens so, too, does Maci and Ryan’s.
Cheyanne looks to be co-parenting well Corey Wharton, the father of Ryder but will have one of the more life changing storylines this season. Cheyanne announced on social media this week that she is pregnant! The father is Zach Davis, an ex-boyfriend she reunited with pretty recently. Oops.
Amber Portwood, easily the most problematic of all Teen Moms (she even served a stint in prison) is struggling with the strained relationship she has with her 12-year-old daughter, Leah. It looks like this will be the catalyst to Amber moving onto the property of her ex, Gary Shirley, who has custody of their daughter. Honestly, Gary and his wife Kristina Shirley are saints when it comes to how they embrace Amber and do everything they can to ensure Leah and her mother have a relationship.
Mackenzie is still in a dark place after the double whammy of her mother passing after battling stage 4 brain AND discovering her husband, Josh McKee had an affair WITH HER COUSIN. Mackenzie has already spent one season threatening Josh with divorce and this season we learned she will move her three kids to Florida. Apparently without cheatin’ Josh in tow. You go, Mackenzie!
Catelynn and husband Tyler Baltierra announced a miscarriage in November via social media. This season Catelynn will be emboldened to speak about the affect this has on her. Both she and Tyler are no strangers to speaking bravely about how mental health issues affect their family.

After all, a few more seasons from now and we could have a Teen Mom with a Teen Mom spin off (yikes).
