Amber Heard has decided to take some time off social media as she prepares herself for her ongoing legal battle with Johnny Depp.
Amber Heard Takes A Break From Social Media ‘For The Next Several Weeks’ Amid Her Legal Battle With Johnny Depp
The pair have been embroiled in a legal dispute for some time after she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of the actor. In response, Johnny decided to file a defamation lawsuit on the grounds that his reputation had been damaged on the basis of false allegations.
And with the pair’s previous relationship now having turned sour, it has polarised the public over who they should put their support behind. With that being said, it is not surprising to see that Amber is taking time off to get herself together.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, she said: “I’m going to go offline for the next several weeks. As you may know, I’ll be in Virginia, where I face my ex-husband Johnny Depp in court.
“Johnny is suing me for an op-ed I wrote in the Washington Post, in which I recounted my experience of violence and domestic abuse.”
Despite standing by her claims, there is no denying that by having this played out in the public, it has had a detrimental impact on both parties. This can be seen by way of Johnny having been canceled from the acting industry initially prior to his comeback movie where he is reportedly going to play French king Louis XV.
But for Amber, it has been seen in another way. After having been married to Johnny, it has meant that she will still remember the fond memories that they had. She added: “I have always maintained a love for Johnny and it brings me great pain to have to live out the details of our past life together in from of the world.”
The sooner that this legal case ends, then the better it is for everyone involved. And in that way, they will be able to go their separate ways and focus on other ventures.
