She just can’t catch a break this year. After admitting that she has been going to therapy because of the Capitol Riots back in January and all that she endured during the Trump administration, Rep. Alexandrea Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is now considering a restraining order against GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after the two got in a shouting match at the Capitol earlier this month. Here’s what you need to know.
While AOC herself has not made any comments about the matter, sources close to the Democrats say that she would likely need to seek a restraining order herself. Greene, who herself has compared mask rules to the Holocaust, said that AOC “should be shamed” for comparing migrant detention centers to concentration camps. She also said that invoking Nazi history is “insulting” and “incomprehensible.”

“She should be shamed by everyone that she’s actually using those terms and making that comparison,” Greene said. “And I think it’s an embarrassment to our country that we actually have a congresswoman that would do such a thing. And I’m calling her out big time. I think everyone should call her out.”
Just last week AOC admitted that she’s been getting mental help therapy to help her heal from the Donald Trump administration. During an interview with PRX’s Latino USA, she also opened up about some of the hardships that Latinos faced during Donald Trump’s time in office.
She also said former President Trump was a terror that created had a huge negative impact on her district in New York City.
“I’m doing therapy but also I’ve just slowed down. I think the Trump administration had a lot of us, especially Latino communities, in a very reactive mode. So I’ve been putting myself in a more proactive space.” she said.
