You would think that everyone that was directly involved with the Alex Murdaugh trial would be on the edge of their seats, waiting with bated breath on anything that might could possibly get them toward a verdict during the closing arguments.

For most jurors, that is the case, however, it would seem that one of the alternate Alex Murdaugh trial jurors is experiencing what they call “trial fatigue” because they leaned back, head against the wall, and according to Gigi McKelvey, host of the Pretty Lies and Alibis podcast, once lunch was over and the closing arguments began, the voice of the lawyers must have been droning and the juror must have been too full, because she simply dozed off for about 10 minutes during closing arguments.

Did the judge call this out? No. We’re not even sure if the judge noticed this behavior or not but everyone else sure did! This same juror, apparently has some issues with audio processing and had to stuff tissues in her ears when they played the interview that took place inside the car after the murders. Sometimes, when one has sensitivity with audio processing, people will wear headphones in order to block out unwanted noise.

That could have been what the juror was doing with the kleenex in their ears. Will this affect the way the verdict is processed? Since the judge didn’t call it out, we don’t think so. After all, a juror has probably taken a bathroom break during closing arguments before, so 10 minutes can’t be any worse than that, right? We’ll let you know if we find out.

Today, the jurors took a bit of a field trip to the hunting club where the murders took place. They spent most of their time across the street from the actual scene of the crime, in some woods.

It was an entire field trip experience, they had a motorcade complete with buses and vans that drove the jurors, the lawyers, and even the judge out to the place where the grisly murders took place. Perhaps that field trip and a really big meal afterwards was what made the poor juror catch a few inadvertent winks on the sly. We’ll keep an eye on this case. Stay tuned!!!
