Alec Baldwin may still be suffering from the fallout of the ‘Rust’ incident, but he has managed to settle a lawsuit in the meantime.
Alec Baldwin Settles His Lawsuit After Reportedly Punching A Man Over A Parking Spot
The actor had been accused by Wojciech Cieszkowski, who claimed that Alec had apparently punched him as a result of an argument that occurred over a parking spot in New York City.
The incident had occurred in 2019 after the actor had become annoyed that Wojciech had taken the parking spot, which was situated outside Alec’s apartment that he had been waiting for. But now it looks as though they can both put it behind them and look forward to the future.
In a joint statement given by both of their lawyers, they said: “Alec Baldwin and Wojciech Cieszkowski have agreed to resolve all litigation concerning the incident that occurred between them on November 2, 2018.
“The terms of the resolution are private and confidential. Neither party will have any further comment.” This is exactly the kind of news that Alec will need, especially since his public profile is not in the best possible shape.
The death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, as a result of his prop gun incident on the set of ‘Rust’ has not been forgotten.
There is still a strong desire in the public arena to have somebody held accountable, with Alec being one of the names that is often mentioned in that regard.
However, by settling outside of court, he has managed to minimise any further damage to his reputation that would have otherwise emerged through high-profile litigation.
The response on social media was much the same. A significant proportion of people recognised that this was a wise move by Alec, given that he has a whole host of lawsuits to contend with.
And by setting a precedent of settling outside of court, there is a feeling that such a similar move could be used again in any lawsuit that could emerge.
One person wrote: “Smart man to settle now. Alec is going to be beyond broke in the not to distance future.” So there you have it folks. What do you think about this?
