Akon, the singer, came to the defence of Nick Cannon when he was criticised for having twelve children, asserting that it is essential to appreciate the contentment that a big family brings.
Akon Defends Nick Cannon For Having 12 Kids-‘A Man Has His Role, He’s Going To Mate’
Cannon has had his fair share of criticism over his role as the father of twelve children with six distinct baby mamas. Nick is a very occupied individual with his role as the presenter of “The Masked Singer” and his own radio program, so it is understandable that he has a lot to manage.
Akon voiced his support for Cannon, claiming that the negative comments are not necessary and people should not be judged based on the amount of kids they have. His reasoning was that females should be primarily responsible for childcare and a male’s role was to propagate and populate the world.
In his comments, Akon said: “A man has his role. And a woman has her role. But the day the woman believes that the man is supposed to share her role with her, then that means she’s lacking. I don’t go pull my wife out to the construction site to go pull nails and two-by-fours because that’s not her place.”
Akon highlighted the advantages of having a huge family and stressed the importance of people showing support and encouragement for each other instead of condemning and criticising. It’s noteworthy that Akon is not only a gifted artist and benefactor, but also a dad of nine children.
With that being said, it was easy to see where Akon was coming from. His following comments confirmed as much: “A man would do what’s naturally comfortable to keep the earth preserved, and that’s to populate the earth. He’s going to mate.”
