Then CBS might be looking for you to join their newest offering in the reality television dating game- The Real Love Boat!
Inspired by the ABC ’70s classic, The Love Boat which ran for 9 seasons between 1977 to 1986, The Real Love Boat is set on a luxury Princess Cruise ship. The reality series will be filmed in the Mediterranean and will bring “singles together to cruise on a luxury ship while looking for love.”
Ahoy Singles! Casting Underway For CBS’s New Dating Show ‘The Real Love Boat’
CBS reps continued to describe the show, saying, “Like the beloved original scripted series, the indispensable crew members including the ‘captain’ and the ‘cruise director’ will play pivotal roles in the matchmaking and navigation of the romance and sometimes turbulent waters ahead.”
The dating show will feature destination dates and challenges and viewers should expect some planted singles, brought on board to “test the couples’ compatibility and chemistry.”
This will all take place over the course of one month. After four weeks at sea, the winning couple (the only ones to make it to the final port) won’t only walk away with ‘love’, but a cash prize and a “once in a lifetime” trip with Princess Cruises… perhaps to use as a honeymoon?
Production on two versions-– one for the U.S. and one for Australia– of The Real Love Boat will begin this summer and the casting call has been sent out across both continents.
The news of this new dating at sea reality show comes on the heels of the rumors that season 19 of ABC’s The Bachelorette will be filming onboard Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady.
