Adele admitted to her fans that “sobriety is boring” as she performed at a Las Vegas show. She said she hasn’t drunk a drop of alcohol in over three months and misses it.
Adele said she was a “borderline” alcoholic in her 20s. Spying a fellow drinker in the audience, she spoke directly to one of her many fans, who had been drinking all day, “Enjoy your whiskey sour,” she said. “I am very, very jealous.”
Adele has also admitted to drinking about four bottles of wine daily during lockdowns due to COVID. That’s a lot of grapes. She has also given up caffeine.
Adele’s “Very Close Relationship with Alcohol”
Adele said she always had a “very close relationship with alcohol.” When her father kept it from her when she was young, she became very curious and wanted to discover the allure. Being the daughter of an alcoholic, she saw what it eventually did to her father.
She has also shared that alcohol made her vulnerable to the media and would not paint a pretty picture of her.
Adele has said before that she stopped drinking. She drank four bottles of wine prior to lunch during the COVID lockdown.
Sophisticated winos will take note that her wine of choice was “Whispering Angel,” a dry French rose. After lockdown, she stopped drinking.
Then, in May 2021, her father died from bowel cancer, and she stopped drinking. Adele also credits her highly impressive weight loss of 100 pounds to her giving up excessive drinking. She reportedly said she was choosing not to drink to preserve her voice.

Even though Adele had previously claimed she quit drinking in October 2021, she got hammered, took off her clothes, and cried in her bra and underwear.
Adele even pole-danced onstage that evening. Onlookers were in a state of shock. She had partied in the bar with a group of friends all night.
Adele’s infamously wild night in London quickly became tabloid fodder. Adele allegedly once got so drunk she forgot she was famous. No, that’s not a bad bar joke. It supposedly happened.
This past February, musical artist Lizzo said that she and Adele hung out at the Grammy Awards, and they both got so drunk they couldn’t even tell what the musical categories were.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer said that even though she won’t be drinking now, she is all set to party with her son, Angelo, who turns 11 years old on October 19th.
She says her son is like his mother because she takes her birthday “very seriously.” Adele says it will be a week-long or month-long celebration, and everyone should do that for their birthday.
Adele commented that her son seemed to be growing up faster than she had anticipated. She made the joke that he should still be having tea parties. “He is more savvy in every way than I am and ever have been or ever will be.”
