In the famous words of Adam Sandler, “If I don’t get [an Oscar for Uncut Gems], I’m going to f***ing come back and do one again that is so bad on purpose just to make you all pay. That’s how I get them.” Alright, it may not be that bad but we’re all a bit curious, aren’t we?

Netflix’s ‘Hubie Halloween‘ is the latest outing from the comedy legend and we’re not sure about it. The trailer looks like a bad joke and Sandler is doing his signature odd character, this time, in the form of Hubie Dubois. A man who makes sure his hometown is safe every Halloween, however, this year it looks like he may be the one saving the day. Take a look at the trailer below that was uploaded with the following description,

“Hubie Dubois (Adam Sandler) thanklessly spends every Halloween making sure the residents of his hometown, Salem, celebrate safely and play by the rules. But this year, an escaped criminal and a mysterious new neighbor have Hubie on high alert. When people start disappearing, it’s up to Hubie to convince the police (Kevin James, Kenan Thompson) and townsfolk that the monsters are real, and only he can stop them. Hubie Halloween is a hilarious family film about an unlikely hero with an all-star cast including Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Noah Schnapp, Steve Buscemi and Maya Rudolph, produced by Happy Madison.”

Perhaps the best way to describe this film is if Officer Doofy from the ‘Scary Movie’ franchise got a spin-off. Should we take this as a joke from Sandler about ‘Uncut Gems’? Or is this just another one of his signature humor films for his Netflix deal? Time will tell, either way, a lot of people are going to end up watching this film.
