The 35-year-old set the internet ablaze, especially given her love life. She is currently a mother to two children with her boyfriend Matte Babel: Atlas and Rome. And yet, it appears that there may be more to her personal life than meets the eye.
In the video here, we can see that there is a clip of someone that stated the following: “If you identify as bisexual, do you own a green velvet couch,” which was next to another TikToker that showed her green velvet couch and said: “I love knowing nothing about my life is original.”
Those two clips coincided with a clip of Shay, who then fell down on her green couch without saying a word. The implication was that Shay may have come out to her fan base. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
One person wrote: “Emily was my gay awakening so this just made my day,” while another person stated: “IS THIS A COME OUT VIDEO? how did i not know this? Lots of love shay, my childhood crush.”
Nevertheless, it is important to take this with a pinch of salt for the following reasons. First of all, Shay has yet to officially come out with a public announcement to confirm whether or not this speculation is true. Therefore, there is also the chance that this could have been exaggerated.
Secondly, other stars have been accused of queer-baiting in the past. This is the concept of implying that you are in a non-heterosexual relationship, so that you can generate interest amongst the LGBTQ community without actually having such feelings or engaging in such experiences.
