A Video Claiming To Show Jada Pinkett Smith Chuckling In The Aftermath Of Will Smith’s Slapping Incident Goes Viral
Will, for his part, decided to lash out at the comedian under the guise of defending his wife, who he felt was disrespected as a result of Chris’ joke about her hair loss. But looking back, it was clear to see that Will acted out of line.
He has subsequently apologised for his behaviour, but his best actor award will forever be tarnished by this. And yet, Jada has not seemed to have helped matters with her reaction to it.
In the video here, we can see that Jada is silent once she sees her husband being outraged. However, when Chris decides to reply with ‘this is the greatest night in the history of television,’ that is when Jada looks to have chuckled.
If Jada’s behaviour is taken to be true, then it is significant for the following reasons. First of all, it clearly demonstrates that she was not hurt too much or enough for Will to have acted in a manner that he did.
Secondly, there is the argument that she had endorsed Will’s actions by laughing at a time where it was clear that her husband had acted out of line. And yet, since that incident, Jada has spoken of the need to ‘heal’ and move on. And that is precisely the feeling that was expressed on social media.
People were of the view that Jada had inadvertently been caught up in this scandal, when she was ultimately the one that was not involved in the joke nor the slap. One person wrote: “Explain to me how one man makes an offensive joke, another man commits assault, but somehow this is all the fault of the woman.”
