As we all know, in August of 2020, Britney Spears requested that her Father, Jamie Spears, be removed off of her conservatorship completely. Just last month, in October of 2020 she was granted the right to expand her legal team in order to do so.
We all had high hopes that maybe, just maybe, Britney was going to finally earn her freedom, but nope. A judge has ruled in favor of keeping Britney’s father on the conservatorship for the time being, but did not rule out Jamie being dropped from the conservatorship sometime in the future.
Britney refusing to perform ever again while Dad is in control
Poor Britney, she has really been through the ringer this past year. From rumored trips to mental facilities and being locked up for months on end against her will, to not being able to drive or even use her own money to be able to buy drinks at Starbucks and the like, 2020 has been a hard year for the singer.
Now, the the verdict passed down from the judge, Britney is now saying that she will never perform again unless her Father is removed from the conservatorship entirely. Sources say that this has totally broken the heart of her Mother, Lynn Spears, who hates that it has come to this, as do we all.
At one point in the past year, her Mom said that when she inquired about Britney’s health, her Father compared Britney to a racehorse that should be cared for as such. Wow, no wonder she wants him removed!
But something else has happened in light of Britney saying that she will never perform again. Urban Outfitters is now saying that it’s going to drop a previously unreleased single from Britney soon. Thing is, this single is not exactly new, the music itself was made four years ago, but is just now being released at a very suspect time.
So Britney announces that she’s never going to perform again and then magically her team releases some previously unreleased music in an attempt to say, “Oh yes you will.” if Britney didn’t sign off on this, this is a clear violation of her rights as an artist. A lot of fans are saying that while they might listen to the track, they will not be buying it, and since no one actually knows where the money is going, I can’t say I blame them.
Let’s hope that Britney’s legal team can regroup and come up with a 24K argument to get her Dad removed soon, so that Britney can have her freedom, and some peace of mind. Stay tuned!!!
