‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers find that star Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott) says while there are plenty of reasons why he loves working with Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) so much, there are two that stand out the most: the German-born actor knows how to be a professional when the times calls, and he knows how to be a goofball when it’s time to loosen up. Here’s what he has to say.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the handsome actor opened up about working with Eric, calling him “walking history” because he is basically everything about the show. That’s something fans wouldn’t argue with, right?

Jason puts it this way to the publication, “As a colleague and another actor, it’s always fun being in the ring with people who you admire and want to work with you and who will be open to however a scene is going to go. That’s what I look forward to mostly because Eric is one who you can do that with. He is a professional and he comes fully prepared.”

And while there’s no doubt that Victor Newman always has his game face on, Jason says that there’s also an unexpectedly lighthearted side to him, too.

He says, “Eric is definitely capable of getting the giggles. I don’t think people realize how tickled he can get, but to be honest, everyone on the show is pretty funny and we do have a lot of fun on set. Yes, it’s very serious and there are times when having fun is not part of the curriculum for the day so we don’t go there, but sometimes it’s unavoidable, especially when Eric finds something funny and can’t stop laughing.”
