Netflix’s ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ stars the late ‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman after his untimely passing from cancer. Boseman had more films in production when he was sick and didn’t let it show a true warrior mentality.

Now, we’re getting to see the late actor’s final work, and it’s touching, tragic, and powerful. Take a look at the trailer for his Netflix film ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ with Viola Davis.

“Tensions rise when the trailblazing Mother of the Blues and her band gather at a Chicago recording studio in 1927. Adapted from August Wilson’s play. Chicago, 1927. A recording session. Tensions rise between Ma Rainey (Viola Davis), her ambitious horn player (Chadwick Boseman), and the white management determined to control the legendary “Mother of the Blues.” Based on Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson’s play. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, directed by George C. Wolfe. Starring Viola Davis, Chadwick Boseman, Colman Domingo, Michael Potts, Glynn Turman, Dusan Brown and Taylour Paige. Coming to Netflix December 18.”

Fans commented on the trailer, and more specifically, one of Boseman’s final performances, “Viola in an interview said “No matter however tired he was, when the camera started rolling, you didn’t see any of it”. To think of all the pain he went through, so he could make the people around him happy with his art. Rest in Peace, King. ✨”, “It’s going to be difficult saying goodbye to the King of Wakanda in this film. R.I.P Chadwick Boseman. Thank you for everything.”, and “Chadwick was really out here giving us movie after movie, while dealing with stage 3 cancer? RIP King ?”.

What a powerful man Boseman was, and to know what he was suffering from is truly incredible as he moved forward the entire time.
