Ladies, gentlemen, and all Americans, you may have just witnessed history. This debate may have set the record for one of the worst presidential debates in recent memory, if not ever. Both sides were rude, name called, couldn’t get their points across, and routinely interrupted the other.

One thing is for certain, no one has changed their minds as to who their voting for. Perhaps the only people who were left in utter confusion were the undecided voters. This whole debate descended into chaos as each nominee took turns punching each other like rock em’ sock em’ robots.

Even before the debate began, there was a big piece about Trump’s income taxes and the proposed “drug tests” for the debaters. They were both distractors, means to lead you away from whichever candidate and something for these two to fall back on.

So, let’s go over some of the good points for each candidate, (maybe “point” is a better word) and we’ll go through the terrible as well. It doesn’t matter which party you adhere to, who you’re voting for or who you donated to. We think these points are pretty much agreeable if you can accept the fact that your candidate can be a damn fool.

Let’s start with Joe Biden, who, surprisingly didn’t have my gaffs or lose his train of thought too often. Of course, this could have been helped by the fact that Trump wouldn’t let him get a word in edgewise.

That may have been Biden’s big takeaway from the evening was his coherence. That’s been one of the bigger attacks against the Democratic Nominee. His gaffs, losing his train of thought, and not remembering things has been a huge concern.

We expected to see a lot of that tonight, although he did pretty well. There were only a few stumbles and it could be due to his mental faculties, of course, with Trump constantly speaking over him, it could have been that. It does seem like he had some nitro brew coffee before the debate started. So kudos to Joe.

However, there was also a lot Joe didn’t do well. When speaking about masks, it seemed difficult for him to stay on track and he began talking about businesses. It also seems he has flip-flopped on several issues including the “defund the police” call that has been going around.

We’ve heard Biden agree, we’ve heard him disagree. We would like to know what his opinion really is on it. The last thing I’d mention about Biden is his son Hunter, whom we’re not allowed to talk about because it’s “personal” and “family matters”, or the all popular, he did nothing wrong.

The same folks who are demanding Trump’s taxes, which could be argued are personal, is saying that we’re not allowed to know about Hunter Biden and if/how he’s used his father’s name for political and business gains.

Lastly, and this goes for Trump as well, but calling each other clowns and stuff, while it may seem funny or silly, is completely inappropriate in this kind of debate. “You clown…. person… person.” Nice save, Joe.

Trump / Biden “Debate”: You May Have Just Witnessed History

Switching over to Trump, it was just as bad. Everyone, right, left or undecided were screaming at their televisions tonight telling him to just stop talking for 1 minute!

Trump’s decent takeaway for this evening was his bread and butter, his economy, and wanting to open up America. Perhaps the smartest thing the man said tonight was to discuss the suicide rates, alcoholism, divorce rates, and depression sweeping our nation from people being unable to work, go outside and live their lives. This is a very fair point and one that should be analyzed. We thought this was his shining moment.

However, he may have ran his mouth way too much tonight. It felt more like a debate between Trump and the moderator than it did between Trump and Biden. He did not respect the guidelines of the uninterrupted 2-minute time slot for each nominee, he constantly spoke over Biden or under his breath, and repeatedly went off-topic to try to prove a point.

Perhaps the most concerning and odd part was when Trump would not condemn white supremacists in the same vein as Biden not condemning Antifa. Trump was asked point-blank, would you condemn these supporters to which he went off about something else. There have been instances we’ve seen Trump and Biden denounce these groups, so why was it so hard tonight?

No matter how you look at it, this debate was a mess. There was no order and it was akin to watching an elementary school lunch argument. After this first debate, there doesn’t seem to be a clear “winner”.

Trump has probably dissuaded whatever undecided voters there were after this first debate, and Biden just felt like an empty suit most of the night and didn’t bring anything to the table.

The second debate, if you dare, will be hosted by Steven Scully of C-SPAN. It will take place in Miami, Florida on October 15, 6 pm Pacific, 9 pm EST.

What do you think? What did you think of this debate? Let us know in the comments below.
