Social media was buzzing this week after The Undertaker posted a Tweet in response to the announcement of a new signing at Leicester City. The former Premier League champions announced the signing of AS Roma’s Cengiz Under by posting a picture of the trademark Undertaker hat and coat in the middle of the pitch at the King Power Stadium.
It was a surprising way to announce a new signing, but it was one that wrestling fans certainly loved. The Undertaker wasted little time in replying to the club paying homage to the Dead Man, as he simply quoted the Tweet and posted a comment saying ‘Digging holes and scoring goals.’ This isn’t the first time that the worlds of WWE and soccer have mixed.
WWE News: Former England Captain Clashes With WWE Star
The live events are regularly attended by some of the biggest sporting stars, with Vinnie Jones and Jose Mourinho being involved in angles in recent times. However, back in 2015, it was the turn of former England and Manchester United captain.
Rooney was attending the live episode of Raw in Manchester with his children, but he couldn’t help getting a little too close to the action when he was goaded by Wade Barrett.
Rooney ended up slapping Barrett around the face. Barrett started trying to pick a fight with the England and Manchester United all-time leading scorer after United beat Barrett’s Preston North End in an FA Cup tie earlier in the year. However, Rooney hasn’t yet responded to whether there will be a match between the two.

There have been two examples in recent times of soccer players that have progressed into the world of WWE. Tim Wiese was an international goalkeeper than played for Germany on six occasions.
Throughout his career on the pitch, he played for some of the biggest club sides in Germany, including Bayer Leverkusen, Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim.
However, after retiring, he decided to embark on a career in WWE and even had a tag-team match against Bo Dallas and the Shining Stars. Stuart Tomlinson also moved from soccer to wrestler after he left Burton Albion in 2013. He signed with the developmental brand at NXT, and competed for two years before he was released in 2016.
WWE News: The Rock Makes Special Appearance
Soccer AM is one of the mainstays for soccer fans in the United Kingdom, as for many around the United Kingdom, it is the perfect way to kick off the weekend. However, there have been a number of wrestlers appear on the show in its 25-year history.
The biggest of those was The Rock, who appeared in 2008 and then again in 2009. On his first appearance, it was decided that he should follow a soccer team since he is on the show, before moments later it was revealed that he would support Macclesfield Town.
The following year he was quizzed about how the club is doing and much to the amazement of viewers he gave a detailed answer to what the club should do to improve.
