The WWE Championship picture has been one of the most entertaining aspects on Raw over the past couple of weeks, and it was once again in the limelight during last night’s episode. Randy Orton made his shocking return to gain revenge on Drew McIntyre, which interrupted an entertaining match-up between the Scot and Keith Lee.
The two stars are set to go head-to-head once against at Clash of Champions this Sunday, but will the Viper be the one to take the WWE Championship away from McIntyre?
WWE News: Randy Orton To Win WWE Championship
Randy Orton has enjoyed one of the best years of his entire WWE career. He has been red hot since the early part of 2020 when he shockingly attacked Edge to set up a WrestleMania match between the two former tag-team partners.
Edge went on to win the match at Mania, before Orton would gain revenge at Payback. But, with an injury to Edge keeping him off television, there was only one place where Orton could go, and that was towards the WWE Championship.
McIntyre and Orton have endured a heated rivalry, with the momentum constantly shifting from one superstar to the other. Many expected McIntyre to drop the title to Orton at SummerSlam, but the Scot eventually escaped with the gold wrapped around his waist.
However, he may not be as lucky when the two clash against at Clash of Champions this coming weekend.
WWE News: Keith Lee To Win WWE Championship
The other man that has been engaged in this rivalry between Orton and McIntyre is Keith Lee, and there could be a solid point made that he may actually be the one to walk away with the title.
We could see McIntyre defeat Orton once again at Clash of Champions, before continuing his onslaught. That could potentially line-up a triple threat between the three stars at Hell In A Cell.
It would certainly be something that the fans would love to see, and it could see Lee get the biggest rub of all, as he wins the WWE Championship less than a year after making his main roster debut.
Lee has already beaten Orton on a PPV this year, and the story between himself and McIntyre is clear for all to see as they have been friends throughout their careers. It could be a thrilling triple threat, and could be the route that the majority of the WWE Universe hopes the company goes down.
