TLC ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ spoilers indicate that God is still in the miracle business. Their baby girl, little Awesome Dawsyn, that they were so worried about, made it through the surgery to close up the hole in her heart just fine.
Earlier, we watched Dad Deon really struggle over bonding with his baby girl because he thought that he might lose her the way they did one of their triplins, Carter, so he had trouble fully trying to bond with her. But now, he’s got an A-OK from the man upstairs himself that it’s okay to bond with his little girl, because she’s going to be okay.

Both of them got to bond with little Dawsyn when they were waiting in the waiting room She’s turned into such a precious little baby, she’s come so far from that wide-eyed little infant who didn’t know what to make of the world. Now she’s smiling at everyone and fully interacting and just living up to her awesomeness.
Karen felt bad becaus she felt like she was re-traumatizing her baby girl by putting her back in a hospital situation. She thought that she might regress. Therefore when they were putting the IV Line in her baby, she had to leave the room and it was actually Deon who stepped up and held little Dawsyn’s hand through that procedure. What an awesome Dad.
Little Dawsyn now has two days that she gets to celebrate. She gets to celebrate her birthday that she shares with her brother and sister, but she also gets this date that’s all her own, called her heart date, and that’s the date that her heart got fixed.
Now she has a date, all to herself that she can celebrate for as long as she lives. I think that’s kind of neat, that they mark that as a date of celebration. I’ve never heard of that practice before but it makes sense and it’s kind of cool, honestly. We wish little Awesome Dawsyn many more heart days and birthdays in her lifetime with all of her family and hope to see that precious little smile back home in the Derrico house soon. Stay tuned!!!
