As we all know, youtuber Olivia Jade’s parents, Lori Laughlin and Massimo Gianouli got sentenced some time ago for being involved in a college scam that guaranteed her admittance to famed USC. Massimo got 5 months in jail, a steep $250,000 fine, along with 2 years supervision upon his release, and 250 hours of community service.
Wife Lori Laughlin got 2 months in jail, with a $150,000 fine and 2 years probation, along with 100 hours of community service. However, before this it was said that Olivia Jade and her sister, Bella, knew nothing about this and they were innocent bystanders in all of this. For the longest time the blame lay squarely on the parents shoulders, while some would argue that is where it should remain, that’s not what prosecutors are saying.
Youtube: Olivia Jade was in deep
Prosecutors are now saying that Olivia and Bella knew a lot more about this then originally thought. Now, it’s being said that both daughters were coached by Lori and Massimo to play a very active role in the scandal that got her admitted to USC.
They engaged twice with fraud mastermind, Rick Singer, twice over two years, They said that they coached both daughters on how to pose for their fake athletic profiles, and with one daughter even how to conceal the scheme from her high school counselor. When Olivia Jade asked if she could even list USC as her top school, Lori told her that she could, but “it might be a flag for the weasel to meddle”. Wow, Aunt Becky, that is some straight up shadiness!
Massimo apparently wasn’t too keen on Olivia Jade’s school counselor either, he referred to him as a “nosy [expletive]” and Lori warned Olivia not to “say too much to that man”. According to sources, Massimo basically went to her school and bullied this guidance counselor into giving Olivia Jade an atheletic reommendatio that wasn’t even real!
Yes, Olivia was on the team of recruits for the crew team, but it was Massimo who informed the guidance counselor of Olivia’s role, in spite of records stating otherwise. He told him she was a Coxswaing, which was news to her guidance counselor. What I wonder is, just how big was this school?
Because it seems like the guidance counselor was largely removed from school life and just stayed in his office pushing papers all day. Usually, a school environment, especially a private school environment, is so small that it would be hard to hide knowledge like this from anyone, but then again I have no idea what large private schools are like in California.
Honestly, while this development may be new, it’s certainly not surprising. Of course a parent would have to coach their kid on what to do and how to appeal to guidance counselors in order not to tip them off. That’s just par for the course, it does not surprise me one bit that both Olivia and Bella were coached on what to say.
When Olivia returned to youtube back in December she said in a youtube video that she was legally not allowed to speak on the case. Well, maybe with the exception of that one photo that she posted to instagram tagging all the media outlets with her middle fingers up in the air with the caption “Close Source Says” it’ll be interesting to know if she posts anything now that both of her parents have been setenced. We’ll keep you updated. Stay tuned!!!
