While they will certainly always be there for you, it’s taking a little bit longer for the Friends reunion to happen. Actress Jennifer Aniston, who is best known for her role as Rachel Green in the highly-popular NBC sitcom of the past, Friends, says that the reunion will happen, but it’s just not safe to film it right now. Here’s what you need to know.

The Friends reunion special was supposed to happen in front of a live studio audience back in May but was ultimately postponed because of the global pandemic that has been the coronavirus. The special was supposed to go into production in mid-August but seeing how there are still cases in many states including Florida, Arizona, Texas, and California, it’s likely that the taping will be postponed yet again. Along with Ansiton, the show also starred Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry.

Speaking to Variety, Jennifer said that she feels sad that the taping is not going as scheduled, but also pleased that the producers are not rushing it in an unsafe way. “Unfortunately it’s very sad that we had to move it again,” the star explained. “It was, ‘How do we do this with live audiences?’ This is not a safe time. Period. That’s the bottom line. It’s not a safe time to do it.”

Jennifer added that the wait will certainly be worth it. After all, fans have been waiting nearly 25 years for this to happen.

“It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been,” she told the outlet. “So I choose to see it as the glass is half full that it got postponed. Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of ‘Friends,’ sorry. You’re stuck with us for life, guys.”
