Could the Ellen DeGeneres show turn into the Jennifer Aniston show? That’s what several sources from behind the scenes believe, as there’s a good chance that Ellen might end up getting replaced by one of the A-list stars that she’s often interviewed herself. Here’s what you need to know.
Ellen isn’t having the best day, week, month, or year for that matter. The talk show host has been slammed and criticized from all different directions for the ‘toxic work environment’ that has been going on behind the scenes at her show. Even though Ellen has long marketed herself as the ‘Queen of Nice’ those who have worked with her say she’s the complete opposite so much so that there is now an investigation underway.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show Update: Jennifer Aniston A Possible Replacement
In order to save the show, an insider close to Telepictures, which is the production company behind the Ellen DeGeneres Show, say that they are looking for possible replacements for Ellen and have so far considered celebrities and television personalities such as Sean Hayes, Kristen Bell and Melissa McCarthy. And yes, even A-lister Jennifer Aniston’s name has been thrown in the hat as a possible replacement, too.
The source says, “All four have global name recognition and their own following. They are all genuinely warm and could carry an Ellen-less show.”
While there were some reports indicating that late night talk show host James Corden was in the running for Ellen’s show, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anymore.
The tipster added, “James Corden is definitely not under consideration as he has a long term deal with CBS and if he was interested in a daytime show, CBS would develop one for him. Regardless, he’s busy enough in late night so it’s not going to happen.”
