CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that though social media can be a place of ugly, tense things, it also harnesses some touching campaigns and information worth reading. Recently, your Instagram feed may have been taken over by black and white photos of women.
This particular campaign was started by women to show a sign of solidarity. Participants are prompted to post a black and white photo of themselves, and a few YR beauties joined the trend.

Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson) used the opportunity to open up about some of her own personal struggles and what she’s dealing with behind-the-scenes.
As she posted a black and white photo with her in a mask, she wrote a touching sentiment, “As much as I want to only post that picture of me from a photoshoot years ago for this lovely #womensupportingwomen trend, I also feel I’m not rally supporting women if we aren’t honest with each other. So, I’d actually rather post this one.”
She continues, “From today. At a fertility clinic. Dealing with some [expletive]. This is the real stuff women go through, and I thought I’d also share this, to all the wonderful women out there including my own personal tribe of best girlfriends and supporters. Being a woman isn’t easy!! But we’re tough and WE GOT THIS. Love all you wonderful warriors.”
Next, Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott) joined the trend, ““I saw women nominating friends and colleagues and family for the challenge to lift each other up. As I watched it occurred to me that one other thing women do better than any other being is stand alone. Defying adversity. Facing unthinkable things with grace and fierceness and love. Alone and together we are all women of excellence and promise who try every day to live our best lives with integrity and grit, whichever is required.”
The caption joined a photo of her 18-year-old self with a picture of her 18-year-old daughter. Again, several daytime stars took to share their thoughts. Sending both women love for sharing their vulnerable side and their lives with us over several years!
