David Schwimmer wants to be there for you, but only if it’s safe. The actor, who is best known for his role as Ross Gellar on the widely popular NBC sitcom Friends, recently opened up about the possibility of a reunion special still happening in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on his late night talk show. Here’s what he has to say.
Jimmy Fallon began by reminding David that there was supposed to be a reunion special with him and his Friends co-stars, which include Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry, but unfortunately the Covid-19 global pandemic stopped it from happening.
Jimmy also asked if the six co-stars were “quarantining together,” which of course, David brushed off. However, he did offer a glimmer of hope about their reunion special and how it might still happen.
David Schwimmer Updates Fans On Friends Reunion Taping
He said, “The hope is that this reunion special, which we we’d love to shoot, it’s unscripted, it’s basically a really fun interview and some other surprise bits. But it’s supposed to happen maybe in August.”
And while filming is tentatively set for August, nothing is set in stone yet, especially with Covid-19 still very much a threat in many parts of the country, including the state of California.
David added, “But honestly, we’re gonna wait and see another week or two if we all determine it’s really safe enough to do. And if not, then we’ll wait until it’s safe.”
While there was some speculation that the cast of Friends were set to take part in a virtual reunion, reports indicate that they want to wait until they can all do it together. We will definitely update you with all of the latest details once they come in!
