CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that star Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell) has recently opened up about her difficult postpartum recovery process. Speaking in a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, the brunette beauty admits that after a joyful pregnancy and then her daughter’s delivery, she felt very isolated in post-partum recovery with her baby. That’s mostly because she gave birth back in March, when the global pandemic that has been the novel coronavirus seemed to have begun its first wave, with a lot of people worried about the continued outbreak of the virus. Here’s what she has to say.

Elizabeth told the publication, “Being alone was really hard. I mean, there was something very special and serene about just the two of us being together. That whole time, I couldn’t take my eyes off of her and was just talking to her. She was in my arms and I just couldn’t put her down, but it was hard not having Rob there. I mean, the nurses are super-busy, and because of COVID, they would only come in and check on me every few hours.”

The actress continued, “I was also getting all this information from them and if Rob was there, he could retain some of that information because I was out of my mind. I hadn’t slept in like 14 hours. So dealing with all of that by yourself was a lot as a first-time mom. If I’d had a baby before I’m sure it would have been a little bit easier.”

Luckily, both Elizabeth and her husband Rob Meder have been enjoying their new life as a family of three. Yes, they spent several long weeks in coronavirus lockdown but now that the state of California has eased some of its restrictions, life is slowly, but surely going back to normal again. In fact, Elizabeth is expected back on the set of Y&R as early as next week.
