Brad Pitt Said Masks Were Beneficial Even Before The Global Coronavirus Pandemic

Brad Pitt wanted people to wear a face mask, even before it became a hot topic, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Here’s what you need to know. According to the Daily Mail, the handsome actor praised audience members in Tokyo for covering their mouths and noses when sick while he was promoting his latest film, Ad Astra.

Brad admitted in an interview back in September and several months before the global coronavirus pandemic, “When I first came here and I saw all the people in the face masks at the airport, I thought, ‘That’s a bit paranoid. Then I came to understand it’s when you have a cold and protecting others and I think that’s so considerate. I don’t know why the rest of the world… I don’t know why we don’t do that.”

Science Daily says that wearing a face mask has proven to be the most effective means to prevent interhuman transmission. Earlier this week, Brad’s ex Jennifer Aniston also took to her Instagram account to tout the benefits of wearing a face mask, especially since there are a handful of states that are seeing an uptick in cases. Sharing a photo of herself looking radiant with no makeup on but semi-wet hair, the Friends alum wrote on her Instagram account, “I understand masks are inconvenient and uncomfortable. But don’t you feel that it’s worse that businesses are shutting down… jobs are being lost… health care workers are hitting absolute exhaustion. And so many lives have been taken by this virus because we aren’t doing enough.”

Jennifer added, “I really do believe in the basic goodness of people so I know we can all do this. But still, there are many people in our country refusing to take the necessary steps to flatten the curve, and keep each other safe. People seem worried about their “rights being taken away” by being asked to wear a mask. This simple and effective recommendation is being politicized at the expense of peoples’ lives. And it really shouldn’t be a debate.”
