While Kelly Ripa has certainly help her own throughout her long and successful career as a daytime television and talk show star, she’s had some very bad luck when it comes to finding the right co-host to help anchor her daytime television show on the ABC network. And it looks like she might be soon finding herself in the same position back when her former co-host Michael Strahan left the empty seat next to her in 2016. Here’s what you need to know.
American Idol contestants were left shocked when Kelly’s daytime television co-host Ryan Seacrest looked like he was either having a stroke or trying very hard not to slur his speech during the finale of the show this week. This has prompted a lot of speculation about Ryan and his health and if he might be taking on too much work.

However, the television star’s rep has shot down reports that he had an on-air stroke and the other rumors that suggested something was ‘off’ with Ryan and his behavior. “Ryan did not have any kind of stroke last night,” his publicist said in a statement to People Magazine earlier this week. “Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home.”
The rep added: “Between Live With Kelly and Ryan, American Idol, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three-four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he’s in need of rest. So today he took a well-deserved day off.”
But then again, many critics have pointed out that Ryan has been juggling this kind of workload for many years now. With that said, if Ryan Seacrest is indeed exhausted, this might prompt Kelly Ripa to look for yet another co-host to replace him in the coming weeks. So far Kelly herself not made any comments about Ryan’s American Idol controversy or what she plans to do in the future for that matter.
