CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate there’s one person in Genoa City who has not and definitely will not put her stamp of approval on her parents’ sudden and shocking reunion. That person, of course, is Summer Newman (Hunter King) as she thinks that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) getting back together again is more than just a bad idea! In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, actor Joshua Morrow admits that Summer’s reaction has been quite interesting. While a lot of kids would love to see their parents back together again, that hasn’t been the case with Summer at all. Joshua might know why.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: When It Comes to Phyllis And Nick, Summer Might Be The Only Voice Of Reason
The actor told the publication, “You know, my parents got divorced when I was very young, but I very quickly learned even then that my parents weren’t supposed to be together. I thought it was a very human thing that Summer’s like, ‘Nah. I’ve seen what you two do to each other. I know how this is going to end. You two probably know how it’s going to end, but you can’t think about that because you guys want each other so badly.’ So Summer is being the grown-up. She’s like, ‘This is not a good idea. You guys need to rethink this.’ But Nick and Phyllis don’t want to hear that, they just want to enjoy each other’s company.”
Of course, time will only tell if Phyllis and Nick will make it past this year or if they will listen to their daughter Summer and cool things between them. But knowing how both Phyllis and Nick react, they will continue to be with one another just to spite everyone in Genoa City. Of course, fans will have to tune in to find out what happens next!
