    ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers relate that things are heating up on a number of fronts in Salem. Thursday brought some problems with the Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) case, the true beginning of a power struggle for control of DiMera, and more tension between Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering).     ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Xander Cook’s Case, DOA

    The biggest story here is, for now, the death of the Xander Cook case. Rafe, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey), and Lani Price (Sal Stowers) are all happy to finally have a crook in their custody they can actually convict. After all, there’s the video proof to back the charge up. Unfortunately, they find out the case is basically DOA when they go looking for the video to have it ready to go for the DA. It’s not in the server.

    They go to see Abe Carver (James Reynolds), who insists the only one he gave access to was John Black (Drake Hogestyn). Sheila Watkins (Tionne Watkins) says he came in and raves about how hot he is and what a great accent he’s got. This raises some red flags and Eli shows her a mugshot of Xander. She confirms that’s John Black, and we, as an audience, do a collective #headdesk.

    ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) Spoilers: Xander Cut Loose

    Abe is angry, but Sheila defends herself. We see through some flashbacks that aren’t really flashbacks that Xander came in and charmed the code right out of her. To be fair, Sheila did insist on ID at first and said Abe would be mad if she gave him the access, but apparently there is only so much charm and sexy voice she can take before she sings like a canary.

    So, not only does Xander get cut lose for lack of evidence, but Sheila uses the idea of Abe firing her the same day he asked her to go to a show with him, as he had an extra ticket, against him. Oops. No wonder this town can’t keep a criminal locked up. I’m sure DA Dragon Lady (Melinda Trask, played by Laura Kai Chen) will be thrilled.

    Speaking of charges that don’t stick, Hope and Rafe argue about the Stefan DiMera (Tyler Christopher) situation and her obsession with Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson). He thinks it’s her fault Stefan’s walking, since she’s the one who got Ted Laurant (Gilles Marini) to take the case. He even expresses concern about their lack of actually, you know, doing their jobs, which Hope thinks he shouldn’t be saying too loudly in public. What’s wrong Hope? Scared you’re about to hit the unemployment line?

    ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: DiMera vs. DiMera

    Just as Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) thought she was going to get Gabi Chic back under her complete control, a newly-freed Stefan arrives to put the damper on any excitement. Seems he’s called an emergency meeting of the board now that he’s a free man, and the leadership of DiMera is up in the air. Chad DiMera (Billy West) makes a call, but has to tell Gabi that Stefan was right.

    All business decisions are on hold until the meeting, where the board will decide who should run the company. He comes in just in time, too, because Gabi was busy threatening Stefan while he was gone. He insists that Stefan isn’t worth it.

    ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Are we in middle school?

    It’s sure feeling a bit immature around here, as Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) tries to scheme alone time with Sarah. Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) reluctantly plays his part, telling Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) that it would mean a lot if she joined him and Rex for some drinks, post Xander’s arrest. Rex eagerly takes every opening to get in good with her, and while Sarah steps away a minute, he begs Eric to pretend that he got an urgent text and has to leave. Dude, seriously. You’re embarrassing yourself at this point.
