Coronation Street Spoilers finds that there were emotional scenes in the show on Wednesday evening, as fans watched on in disbelief as Ken Barlow’s dog was put down. Eccles had become a mainstay in the soap after previously belonging to the late-Deidre. Fans were immediately worried that Eccles had been killed off because the real dog had passed away, but the soap posted a picture of the real-life Eccles to calm fans fears.
In the episode, Emma Brooker was the person to make the judgement call, after Dev noticed that he didn’t look right. Emma took him to the vets, where the vet admitted that the best thing for the dog and his health was to put him to sleep. Emma was understandably shaken by the decision, and her family didn’t offer much support.

Emma was forced to make the judgement call after none of the Barlow’s answered their phones. When they finally arrived at the vets, the decision had already been made and Tracy immediately blamed Emma for not looking after the dog right. Steve jumped to her defence, while Ken also looked visibly angry.
The spoilers have emerged for next week, and it would seem that Ken will be using that anger in his fight against Charles. The two pensioners are to do battle next week as they bid to become the new president of Still Waters retirement home. Ken will be incensed when Charles makes fun of the fact that Eccles has died, and he will use that as ammunition.

Ken will know that he will have an uphill battle to compete with Charles, as he has only been at Still Waters for less than a month. He will ask Norris Cole to help him bring Charles down, and he will task his old friend will finding evidence that proves Charles is scamming residents at the residence.
The bitter feud between the two of them reaches a new level after Charles mocks Eccles, but will Ken be able to get retribution for his canine friend? Fans will have to watch the episodes next week as the election results are in.
