After spending the past thirty-plus episodes with obvious tension between Amalia and Jorge Camacho (Luciano D’Alessandro), we saw a bit of resolution on Tuesday. Thanks to Álvaro López’s (Ernesto Benjumea) work, they’ve learned enough about Jorge’s private life and nefarious business dealings to bury him, should she want to. But she once more proved she’s the better person. Instead, she used what they learned to force him to withdraw his request for full custody. Plus, she made it clear he had to meet his obligations to his secret daughter. Not a bad move from a woman who has been treated like trash by the husband who’s busy employing prepagos.
He did the right thing. Operación Pacífico spoilers reveal when they showed up for the hearing, he revoked his request. And the judge decided to go along with what they wanted. So now Amalia is free to be with her children and will have them the majority of the time. There’s one issue with that, though.

You might remember that Mariana Ortega (Johanna Fadul) is an addict who slipped a couple of times this season. She decided to ask Jorge’s help to detox by letting her stay at a business associate’s house. The move did her good. She got to relax and get away from everything, and that kind of setting looks healing to us. Unfortunately, we just learned what a mistake it was.
It turns out that her new potential love Joaquin Bernal (Alberto Agnesi), who also gave her a different place to stay now, is affiliated with El Guapo. He’s planning to use her against Amalia. Plus, her kids are another target, thanks to Ernesto Vargas (Christian Tappan). But through it all, Guapo is showing he’s got a soft side.

Guapo actually met Mariana in the Tuesday episode, but didn’t know who she was. When he learned the truth, he was intrigued. But he doesn’t seem to want to hurt her. So we’re sure Mariana will be treated well there, and she won’t learn much about what’s going on. At least, not from being directly tied up and threatened. But that wasn’t all.
When Vargas called to tell Guapo that Amalia’s kids will be spending part of their time with Jorge, he seemed resistant to involving them. He made it clear he doesn’t hurt innocents, and his problem is with Amalia and Amalia alone. Not a common trait we’ve seen in Novela villanos. So, this should get interesting in these final episodes. We just hope this series was planned to be this short. We’ll get into that another time. For now, enjoy what’s left of the show.
