British Royal News is saying that Queen Elizabeth was pictured handing out honours at an investiture ceremony today wearing a white glove. It has become a tradition that the Queen didn’t have any gloves on to hand out the honours. Buckingham Palace refused to comment on the Queen’s choice of outfit or whether she had worn gloves in the past.

The decision to wear gloves quickly prompted many on social media to suggest whether she was doing so due to the risk of the coronavirus. Others on social media admitted that they weren’t surprised to see her wearing gloves, as she often does when attending events.

British Royal News: Past Pictures Show No Gloves

A picture from a ceremony last year showed that the Queen wasn’t wearing gloves on that occasion. There are now 51 reported cases of coronavirus in the United Kingdom, with a further 70 other countries also suffering from the illness. The World Health Organisations have already set out their precautionary steps to avoid the spreading of the illness.

They have encouraged people to wash their hands regularly, and also cover their mouth when sneezing or coughing. At this time, it hasn’t been confirmed whether the Queen was wearing clothes for hygienic reason surrounding the coronavirus.

British Royal News: Family Member Missing Commonwealth Service

Along with the investiture ceremony, it was also revealed on Tuesday that one royal family member would be missing the upcoming Commonwealth Day service. The event is due to take place on the 9th March at Westminster and will be the final engagement for Harry and Meghan.

Kate and William will also be in attendance, but Prince Andrew will be absent. The prince has stood back from royal duties following the allegations surrounding his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. The Commonwealth Day service is one of the most important of the year for the royal family, and all other major royals will be in attendance.
