NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers indicate Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) was ripped off. Recently, the PTB announced they had something special planned to mark Hayes’ 50 years on the air. Around the same time, several other Daytime actors celebrated big anniversaries. Among them was Eric Braedon, who plays Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless. Recently, we got to see his episode. We suddenly felt very bad for Hayes. Here’s why.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The other side

So, their CBS counterpart also planned something for Braedon’s celebration. This took up the better part of the week as they celebrated 50 years of the company Newman Enterprises, as well as the 40 years the actor’s been on the show. We saw bits and pieces of the week, but it wasn’t until we saw the actual specific episode we started feeling bad for poor Doug and his portrayer.

On Y&R, the episode revolved around people giving speeches about Victor and his impact on them. This led into multiple flashback scenes that took up a big part of the episode. We got to see the actor through several different eras, as well as some big stories. Like when he confronted his father about being abandoned to an orphanage. We also saw his romance with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) play out, as well as scenes with both family and enemies. The whole thing was topped off with Victor seeing a big art display of photos of him, ending with a wedding picture of him and Nikki. By contrast, Days failed.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Big little, stay home

As we said, they made an announcement about a special thing they had in place to honor Bill Hayes’ 50 years on the show. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal his celebration looked like a cheap afterthought. We saw only a few flashback scenes of Doug in his younger days, and it wasn’t really even about him. It was about another character, Bill Horton (Edward Mallory), who died. When the news of his death was delivered, we had only a part of the episode dealing with this, and, again, most of it was all about Bill and the impact he had on Doug and his life. As if to add insult to injury, this plot twist also led to a good chunk of his family leaving town for the funeral, and we’re not sure when they’ll be back. It seemed like a sad way to honor such a big milestone.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Respect

We found this to be a bit of a disrespect to the actor and his time on the show. Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate he’s one of the heads of the family. It sure felt like he deserved more. It especially seemed lackluster when you consider the all-out job they’re doing with Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) and her situation. Not to mention the drama around #Cin, as well as Gabi DiMera’s (Camila Banus) breakdown. They prove they can bring it when they want to. They might need to remember that the next time a big milestone comes around.
