On Friday, February 28th, Mariana Ortega (Johanna Fadul) was desperate. She knew she messed up big time by kissing Jorge, and she wanted nothing more than to get Amalia to speak to her again. Amalia, however, made it clear she wasn’t ready to. That’s when Mariana pulled a desperate move. And we learned a bit about her past.
Mariana invited Wilson (José Restrepo) over to bring her some heroin. She then shot herself up and Wilson came back shortly after to find her foaming at the mouth. In a panic, he dropped her outside an emergency room and took off. While she survived the incident, we learned there was more to it.
She actually purposefully OD’d because she couldn’t take the pain of her mistake and Amalia’s rejection. It wasn’t her first time with drugs either. We learned she’d been addicted and Amalia helped her into a program that kept her clean for two years. Operación Pacífico spoilers reveal this was a hard hit for a woman already on the edge.

To deal with the guilt and sadness, Amalia asked Gabriel Pedraza (Mark Tacher) to drive her to the nearest bar for a drink to escape her sorrows a minute. The pair ended up having a heart-to-heart where Amalia revealed all this information. As well as what happened between Jorge and Mariana. This led to Amalia and Gabriel sleeping together. Unfortunately, she’ll have a problem ahead.

Jorge’s an opportunist of the worst kind. When Amalia leaves the hospital after getting an upsetting explanation for the Mariana/Jorge thing, he followed her. He saw her drinking and chatting with Gabriel, and decided to use this to his advantage. He got a bunch of pictures of them together. Pictures he’s obviously planning to use in the divorce proceedings. Of course, he’s conveniently forgetting the fact they’re done anyway. He’s also showing no true guilt for his affairs, nor is he showing any sympathy for emotional wreck that is Amalia right now.
We predict big trouble. Operación Pacífico spoilers hint there will be a huge war ahead. He’ll do everything he can to ruin Amalia, and she’ll have no choice but to get ugly right back. Nice to know this guy has so little self-awareness. We’re starting to rethink the idea of him taking care of the kids. He seems a bit immature at this point.
