‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Vivica A. Fox, who plays Stephanie Simmons on the soap, thought her character was only returning to Genoa City for a brief period.
Stephanie Recently Told Holden His Biological Father is Malcolm Winters
However, in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actress said her storyline arc with her on-screen son, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), is far from over.
While Holden now knows the truth about his paternity, there is still so much storyline potential considering that Holden now has prominent family ties.
Holden recently learned that his biological father is Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore). Therefore, he’s part of the Winters family and related to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Devon Winters (Bryton James), and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
He is still navigating, getting to know his new clan. Lily has been receptive, but Devon and Nate are still somewhat reluctant.
So, the powers that be approached Vivica A Fox about extending her stay in GC. Of course, she was thrilled. According to Fox, she is set to have a “bright future” at Y&R.
Stephanie will continue to work hard to undo the damage she’s done to her relationship with her son. However, Holden is keeping a huge secret.
Since Stephanie is staying in Genoa City for a while, she’ll surely find out what Holden is hiding from her.
It only took Stephanie about two seconds to size up Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), especially since Audra had threatened Holden when they first met. That’s when her mama bear instincts kicked in.
Stephanie is bound to find out about Holden and Audra’s time in Los Angeles. Holden apparently killed a man to protect Audra.
Vivica A. Fox’s Stay In Genoa City Has Been Extended
Audra had met an art dealer at the Shadow Room and stole a large sum of money from him. He showed up and tried to get handsy with her, but Holden knocked him out, apparently hard enough to kill him when his head hit the bar.
While Holden was definitely upset with his mom for keeping such a huge secret from him, his secrets will come out, too.
However, Stephanie will obviously blame Audra for the murder incident. It’s only a matter of time before Stephanie uncovers the real connection between Holden and Audra.
Fox has been “having a blast” with her co-stars. She had high praise for her onscreen son, Nathan Owens, “We’ve just been having a great time working together, and we’ve already bonded as mom and son. I adore him, and I think it’s perfect casting! He looks like he could be” (her and Moore’s son).
Apparently, Owens and Fox have even attended a few basketball games together and have had a lot of fun.
Despite having such a wonderful time in Genoa City, staying at the soap was unexpected but also a pleasant surprise. She gushed, “I never saw this one coming!”
Fox warmly added, “It’s been such a surprising shock but so fulfilling, and I am just so happy to be home, I really am, and I want to thank all the fans for the support and welcoming Stephanie back. It’s a lot of work, but I absolutely love it. I love what I do, and I love being here on Young and the Restless.”
